Using a Multiplication table
It is important to know your multiplication facts quickly and accurately. When you know all your facts, this means that you can multiply FLUENTLY. A multiplication chart is a good place to start to help you FLUENTLY learn all the basic facts from 0-10. Take a look at the chart below. You will notice that there are rows and columns from 0-10.
How do I use a multiplication table? The blue chart below shows how to multiply 4 x 4. Locate the four on the column on the right, then locate the four on the top row. If you follow these rows and columns, you will find:
4 x 4 = 16
4 x 4 = 16
Multiplication charts are great, but not something to depend on. You may use a chart as a tool to help you, but you should work on knowing FLUENTLY by memory. :)
